in schools, all knowledge has been secretly split into ‘the grammar’ and ‘the application’.

and secretly, -the school system is only teaching the grammar. because its easy to grade and easy to ‘rote-learn’ ; they are never telling the public about the split itself !

no one is teaching any application – of maths, or of sciences, electronics, even engineering is in same boat- all engg colleges are teaching the ‘grammar of engineering’ . music- same thing- no one is banging on the drums – they are learning the nuances of swara’s

the surprising corrolarry is – all scientists doing real science, all engineers doing real; engineering- they are doing it ‘in-spite-of-the-system’ and all are self taught !!

i stumbled across this looking at tannu’s maths and science books.
they are heavily teaching the grammer of maths- add div subt multiply,
tannu doesnt know when to add and when to multiply- the application is lost to him.
but if u give him 2 numbers and tell him ‘add them’ – he can !

i have a engg friend who calls himself a ‘maths wizard’ – i asked him – how does one write the differential equations for a natural phenomena – he didnt have a clue.
i had secretly asked him an ‘applied-maths’ question – he konws the ‘book-maths’ terribly well.

ditto for fresh electronics/computer engineers i see in the company -
they are unable to decompose problems into known parts !!
if i tell them – write a linked list for this- they can
but they cant figure it out in the 1st place – looking at the raw problem

Then the definition of wealth will change dramatically.

A person with the above attitude will be in deep depression when he sees exploitation of his self and his family and his society at large by the social overlords- the media, the burocrats , the army and the muscled farmers.

problem is- when one looks bak historically- everytime one tyranny collapsed, another one came up.

and after WW2- the tyrants have moved from physical tyranny to tyranny of the mond- control of ppls minds.

in the past they used to colonize the people, now they use advanced methods of Edward Barenys – like
1. debt indenture- keeping ppl debt slaves
2. manufacturing of concent – the methods of goebbel to make ppl feel as if the opinions they have are their own, when in fact the opinion is planted in ppls minds by the media- tv ,noosepapers – what to buy, wht to watch etc.
3. keeping ppl’s creative side supressed. by making the creative a matter of laughing stock

I can see 3 major treands
a. TV/and its masters – the media triangle – Banks, Home Builders/White Goods manufacturers and the financial institutions – they have trained the entire kids generation to “Compete via Consuming”

b. The schools are teacing kids ignorance. They are teaching kids that their own opinion about anything is useless. That only the experts know. A belief system is being installed- that helps the social overlords – the bnks, the home/goods makers and media.

c. Very deliberate attack on the creative capablities of the individual – an attack that forces ppl to NOT create. And to become passve consumers

In the past- kids used to compete on creativity. now they compete on consumption. he who can conspicuously consume more is better.

what to do ?

Since i belong to the artisan clan, i have wondered about my fate. Are artisans in any way, better off than tillers.

On the face of it – tillers seem to have all the advantages. They get all the girls. They hold all political offices. They have brawn. They control society.

But artisans have other senaky advantages. Artisans get to work in the shade, they get to use their intellect so they can get away without brawn. They are the tool makers for everyone. so ppl need them. they dont have to work as hard as the tillers in adverse weather conditions [kheti ka kaam aur bhado ka ghaam]
the ppl who made the most money int he gold rush were the tool makers- the spade and sieve makers. the artisans.

The Burocrats need cheating and deception skills- thats how they live
The Army needs war-mongering skills- that how they live- by creating wars, and then ‘fighting’ them, Of course, they completely destroy the society [economically and demografically-the young die] in the process.

a good parent is one who is aware- in the Bhudda sence. One who is not sleepwalking. One who is not un-consciously channeling his/her own parents.

People always thing they can ‘wing it’ when it comes to parenting.

Societies across time had gods for everything imaginable under the sun.

Except parenting. A god, praying to whom would make one a better parent- such doesn’t exist, even for ancient civilizations like the Indians, the Chinese, or the Jews !

I am stumped – how could societies across the eons of time ignore this fundamental human need ?

The same public, and the women mostly hate and diss the Nerds who dreamt of the plane, designed its engine-body-electronics-controls.

Strange.

The public mistakenly attributes the beauty of the planes design to the PILOT !!
Widespread, rampant mis-assignment.

Now as I see the world around me- it strikes me how intelligent politicians are. Politics is a type of intelligence. It strikes me how intelligent graphics designers are. Graphics design is a dense intelligence. One that i can never hope to master. Its just too much ‘out there’. I am sure they fee the same way about computer science- something that comes easily to me.
I am thunder struck by how intelligent musicians are. My flute teacher for example – he can weave this delicate charm of tunes, that the best quick sort implementation cannot even come close to.

I have also learnt a lot from my kiddo – Electron – a hi-energy charged particle. He has taught me much about the naural intelligence of kids bodies. for example – the way he gets up from bed after a nights sleep. Its a lovely mauver- where there is no jerk in the body at all. Kind of like rolling up from bed. Its fantastic to watch. I try and copy it in my daily routine.

Needless to say – contrary to what my parents believed- intelligence has many many dimensions. I am only dimly aware of a few of them. God help me to be more aware..
